POSITION SUMMARY:
Set up induction machines to run consistently and error free to meet quality standards. The Machine Setup employee will use mechanical skills, setup cards and obtained knowledge to ensure the machines run at 100% efficiency to produce high quality, detailed work based on established standards, guidelines and procedures.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
- Support Zion’s Strategic Foundations.
- Work productively, efficiently and timely to meet customer needs.
- Ensure all quality requirements are met and machine set-up is capable of running without getting a first inspection shut down.
- Ensure all machines are running at or above 100% efficiency.
- Work with and instruct operators to observe machine operation with awareness of machine malfunction and/or operator error. Follow established standards, guidelines or procedures to report issues.
- Maintain and care for equipment and tooling within specified guidelines.
- Effectively communicate and cooperate with team members.
- Maintain accurate documentation including set up cards and machine logs.
- Actively participate in and maintain Zion’s Safety and Housekeeping standards.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Mechanical skills
- General electrical and hydraulic knowledge
- Able to operate independently as well as part of a team
- Must be able to successfully communicate with other team members to ensure customer requirements are met
- Ability to read and follow Work Instructions
- Demonstrate steady, methodical, error-free work output
MACHINES/EQUIPMENT/TOOLS/WORK AIDES:
Zion will train on proper use of required machines.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Bending, stooping, standing, walking on hard surfaces
- Ability to lift, up to 50 pounds throughout the shift
- Ability to work overtime as necessary
- Ability to work in hot environment
- Ability to use hands and arms to operate equipment
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Shop environment.
- Occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
